Travellers in the ancient times and immigrants often set up homes in this area and lived on this land as many others did to now become the United States of America. This is evident in the fact that there are traces of the fact that, French, Indians, Spanish and English people lived here in the park centuries ago. It is however unknown how much history is yet to be unearthed, but the possibilities are unending. Learn more about this by clicking here.

The park is located on the west of he highway and righ in fron of the stream at Mobile bay is a natural camping base for tourists, a date spot or a relaxation spot for as far back as 1500AD. Taking a trip here, you will discover monumental pieces, microliths, pottery wheel, and other materials that have been exhumed from burial grounds of ancient building constructors. You can also find that early settlers often held tribe meetings in the area know as a “Sacred Ground”.
This park reserve houses a very historic and monumental piece which is one of the tallest oak trees in Alabama. Standing at 95 feet tall, this enormous tree was landamrked in the eighteenth century and great efforts were made to preserve this tree by constructing an observation platform around the tree to provide a great view and less disturbance from pedestrians.
